Should We Get Engagement Pictures Taken?

Should we get engagement pictures taken? Last week on Wedding Wednesday, I shared the last segment of our little love story – our engagement! So, it only seems fitting to spend some time talking about engagement pictures, which is next up on our Ultimate Wedding Checklist. Shortly after you get engaged (read my engagement advice here), you may be start thinking about getting engagement pictures taken. If you’re anything like me, you are on the fence about whether or not you want to get engagement pictures done. I was hesitant to take engagement pictures for a few different reasons. Logan and I aren’t real big on “PDA”, so I was a little nervous about getting all up close and personal in front of the photographer and that big […]

Should we get engagement pictures taken?

This was just moments after he popped the question...couldn't be happier!

Our Little Love Story: Part Three

Our Little Love Story: Part Three For Wedding Wednesday today, I’m bringing you the rest of our little love story – which is appropriate because it eventually leads to a wedding. The wait has been unbearable, hasn’t it? I started our little love story a few months ago and never got the chance to share with you the epic grand finale before I took my little blog hiatus, so today is the day! Today is the final installation of Our Little Love Story. If you’ve been following along in our love saga, you know that we were left with me just waiting and waiting for Logan to pop the big question. Since it’s been so long, you may need a refresher so check out how […]

Easy Thrift Store Dresser Transformation

Easy Thrift Store Dresser Transformation This post contains affiliate links, but nothing that I wouldn’t wholeheartedly recommend anyway! Read my full disclosure here. I am so excited to jump back in and start giving you some updates about our home renovation projects. Today, I’m going to show you how I quickly transformed a thrift store dresser with just a $4 can of spray paint! You guys all saw how small our master closet is when I talked about the closet systems we installed. The closet systems definitely made our closets much more efficient, but it still wasn’t going to fit all the clothes we needed to store. I was on the hunt for a dresser when I came across this amazing dresser at one of my favorite […]

Cal is one month old!

This post contains affiliate links, but nothing that I wouldn’t wholeheartedly recommend anyway! Read my full disclosure here Yesterday Cal turned one month old! This last month has gone by so quickly and also in some ways seemed to go by at a snail’s pace. He brings us so much joy everyday. This month he loves staring at faces, eating, swaddles, his babysusher (amazing sound machine), cuddles, bedtime stories and tummy time. He’s not a huge fan of daytime naps (any tips are appreciated!) , but he’s doing good at night – sleeping 3-4 hour stretches for the first half of the night and 2 hour stretches in the first half of the early morning. He had a slow start to gaining weight because wasn’t […]

Welcome Baby Calloway!

….and I finally break the blog silence!! I had to take a little blog hiatus the last few months as we rushed to finish the major projects of our home renovation (can’t wait to start updating you!)  and prepare to add another human to our family. Thanks for your patience and for sticking around while I took a much needed break. It’s been a great big gulp of fresh air, but I’m back and I’m a MOM! Our perfect little baby Calloway was born on May 9th, 2016 at 6:05pm. He weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. So far parenthood has been a roller coaster in every way. I’m sure it has something to do with the hormones, but I’ve cried […]

Our Little Love Story : Part 2

Our Little Love Story : Part Two

I know, I’ve been keeping you on the edge of your seats waiting for the next part to our little love story. A couple weeks ago, I shared about how Logan and I met in Our Little Love Story: Part One. Go back and read that post to refresh yourself as we hop right into the middle of this love story. We left off with Logan sitting in his car for 30 minutes trying to gain the courage to come upstairs to tell me how he felt…. Now if Logan was telling you this part of the story he would say that he knocked on the door and then sat on the couch and poured out his heart to me and I said, word-for-word, “I like you, […]

Valentine’s Day Love Is In The Air Printable

Valentine’s Day Love Is In The Air Printable Love is in the air folks. And since I work from home and it’s been raining and snowing A LOT lately, let’s just say that I haven’t had much fresh air. So maybe it’s just MY air. But everywhere I look, love is in the air. If you’ve ever heard the phrase “love is a verb”, marriage will show you how true this is…especially marriage in the middle of a home renovation. My amazing husband has been day-after-day working through this crazy home renovation we’ve undertaken. He’s worked through body aches and pains to just keep going. He’s insisted that I don’t over extend myself by trying to help too much at 6 months (goodness gracious, almost […]

How To Choose a Wedding Photographer

This week on Wedding Wednesday we’re talking all about how to choose a wedding photographer. It’s one of the next things on our Ultimate Wedding Checklist. How To Choose a Wedding Photographer Don’t Skimp On Your Wedding Photographer One of the most important pieces of advice we received during the wedding planning process was “don’t skimp on the photographer”. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… your wedding is only ONE DAY. It is so fleeting and there is so much time, energy and money poured into the big day. The only things that stick around after the cake is all gone are your photos (and video if you have a videographer). You will probably see your wedding photos daily if you hang […]

12 Small Bathroom Ideas

12 Small Bathroom Ideas We recently “moved into” our master bathroom and I can’t tell you how nice it is to have a bathroom in our master bedroom again. I don’t have to stumble down the hall in the middle of the night anymore to go potty…(middle of the night potty trips are getting to be frequent and bound to get worse as this preggo lady gets more preggo!) The only downside of our en-suite master bathroom is that it is extremely small and awkward (check it out in our pre-renovation home tour here). I’m still trying to get everything organized and pretty in there with my limited storage space, so I thought I would share with you some of the great Small Bathroom Ideas […]

Installing Closet Systems + Valentine’s Day Giveaway

Installing Closet Systems Note: at the end of this post, there’s a fun Valentine’s Day giveaway, so don’t forget to sign up. Everywhere I look everyone seems to organizing something or cleaning something else. I guess it that’s time of year! I thought it was a good time to share with you all about the closet systems we installed as part of our home renovation. When we moved in, the closets were the older and dated one-shelf, one-bar look that you find in many homes (see photos below or click here for a full pre-reno home tour). They didn’t seem very efficient and they certainly didn’t look pretty. Since we were downsizing, we knew we needed to take full advantage of the closet space and […]

15 Tips for Wedding Dress Shopping

I know, I know…it’s been a while since an installment of Wedding Wednesday. But I have some fun posts in the works about all things wedding planning, so stay tuned. One of the next things up on our Ultimate Wedding Checklist is to find and purchase “the dress”. 15 Tips for Wedding Dress Shopping Wedding dress shopping is one of the most exciting aspects of the whole wedding planning process, but it can also be a stressful time spent worrying about budget, body image issues, pleasing others and it can possibly bring on anxiety as your big day begins to feel even closer. With my 15 Tips for Wedding Dress Shopping, hopefully some of these stresses can be eliminated or lessened. 1.  Have a budget in mind  Remember when […]

There is so much generosity of poured out during the holidays, everyone is need of a handful of thank you cards afterward. Whether it be a thank you for a Christmas present or for hosting Christmas dinner, dog-sitting during the holidays, etc. A handmade ANYTHING is always better than not, so I always try to make handmade thank you cards. 2016 Goals and My Wish For You

I secretly hate New Years Resolutions. Yes, those decisions we make at the beginning of each year that we quickly forget come mid-January. Goals, however, I could do some goal setting in my sleep. I’m to-do list making, deadline-driven person. I’m also lucky because my husband loves goals and looking over my shoulder at the to-do lists. At work, I have running to-do list that gets updated every Monday morning. For our home renovation, we have a LONG list of to-do’s and goals. Occasionally when I’m feeling overwhelmed with the amount of things I must get done from the time I get off work until I go to bed, I jot down a quick list. But it usually stops there. Although I have goals in […]
